Cynthia created an innovative and unique event planning package that focuses on providing Eco-Friendly services from start to finish. This idea is focused on a topic that is very relevant in this time, shows how Cynthia and 1CCU keeps up with the emerging market and offer services that will appeal to everyone. The Environment and the Go Green movement have been very important over the past couple years and especially during this past election, Cynthia recognized this niche market and incorporated it into her business structure.
Cynthia was gracious enough to answer my questions regarding her reason for entering into the Event Planning world:
TIC:Why did you start 1 Creative Concept Unlimited?
Cynthia:My background is in Marketing and Corporate Finance and my Love is Event Planning and I have a Natural sense of Career Development. My company is my “Dream Job”. It encompasses all those aspects, of Event Planning, Strategic Marketing Solutions and Training development. I believe in creating your own destiny in order to take ownership of your own failures which serves as the foundation for your ultimate success.
TIC:How did you come up with the concept and name for the company?
Cynthia:It came to me on a trip to Walmart with my kids. I quickly jotted it down in my PDA and developed it when I returned home. Our tag line is ” One creative concept = unlimited opportunities”, the mantra for my company. We will take our clients key idea and design a complete Marketing Campaign, Event, and Development program from that one idea.
TIC:How did you get into event planning? and how do you continue to find new ideas and creative concepts for your clients?
Cynthia: I got into event planning over 6 years ago by creating events to bring in clients for the Financial Institution I worked for. I find that in the event planning industry there is plenty of competition and the only thing that will differentiate one from another is , being relevant, consistent, creative, and innovative. I have designed an Green Event package called “Eco-Elite Events. I designed 9 key factors that will make your event Green. I created this as an answer to the Negative Media Impact that Larger Corporate America has been facing. By incorporating an Eco Conscious element to their event and adding a charitable donation from the proceeds of the event, this helps take the focus away from the budget spent on the marketing to the purpose of the event.
TIC:What makes 1 Creative Concept Unlimited different from other event planning companies?
Cynthia: The difference is our capability to provide complete Event Marketing services, from designing the complete Brand and Strategic side of the campaign to the Event Design, and the Graphic and Logo design. I developed and designed all of my marketing materials and logos. This way we save our client money by offering one pack and one price, with one point of contact (that One Creative Concept)
TIC:What advice would you give other individuals who are trying to break into the corporate event planning industry?
Cynthia: I would tell them to market themselves as a One Stop Shop. I incorporate my Finance background into my Event Marketing pitch, by offering a comprehensive budget review so that I can ensure that my clients are getting the most for their dollars and save them where I can. I also would encourage developing an Elite Team of Vendors as Partners. I have a database of over 300 Vendors, but I have a group of 1CCU Preferred Vendors that share my vision, creativity and quality of service, from Media Partners, to Stage/Lighting, Venues, Travel Agents, Transportation, and catering. When they hire 1CCU they get a “Dream Team”.
TIC:Are there any dreams that you haven’t achieved yet?
Cynthia: There are many dreams not achieved yet because they have not been thought of yet, but they are near and as they come I make it reality. I have recently launched the Luxury Event Planning department of my company and I am launching our first Luxe Fragrance for our Brides and regular consumers called “Bodies of Water” by 1CCU coming in May.
